VEGAS (April 4, 2022) – The Vegas Golden Knights Alumni Association today, April 4, announced plans for a charity golf tournament presented by Remington Nevada at Bear’s Best Las Vegas on Wednesday, May 18. The brand new non-profit organization is dedicated to former NHL players with a focus on giving back to the community, growing the sport of hockey and supporting mental health and wellness efforts. Deryk Engelland, President, and Shane Hnidy, Vice President, lead the efforts behind the VGK Alumni Association.
Members of the Golden Knights organization will attend the event along with celebrities such as Engelland, Hnidy and former Major League Baseball All-Star Jason Giambi. A portion of the tournament proceeds will go to the DREAM program launched by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to redirect and empower troubled youth through mentorship from law enforcement.
“We are thrilled to host the first major fundraising event for the VGK Alumni Association,” said Engelland. “Bear’s Best Las Vegas will be a spectacular venue and we know it will be a special day for everyone involved, all in support of a truly meaningful cause.”
