CLARKSVILLE, TN – On January 19, the Clarksville Association of Realtors Spreading Our Support Foundation (CARSOS) hosted an inaugural grant presentation reception, awarding nearly $145,000 to seven charities in Clarksville-Montgomery County. CARSOS is on a mission to harness the power of our local real estate agents in fundraising to turn around and contribute to other charities in our community.

“CAR has a genuine passion for helping our community,” said Sandra Hester, 2022 President of the Clarksville Association of Realtors. “Being able to donate close to $145,000 to organizations throughout our community makes me proud to be part of this association. I love seeing our realtors make a difference here where they live and work,” Hester said.

The following organizations have received CARSOS grants:

  • Boys and Girls Club of Montgomery County – $15,000
  • CAR Young Professionals Network Mikes Groves Memorial Scholarship – $55,000
  • Judy’s Hope – $20,000
  • Kinsley Lynch Foundation – $6,000
  • Montgomery County Veterans Coalition – $19,000
  • Montgomery County Helps Communities Together – $2,500
  • Urban Ministries Safe House – $25,000

“We are so grateful to our Realtors, Affiliates and members of our community who donated throughout 2021,” said Melanie Lacasse, 2022 President of the Clarksville Association of Realtors Spreading Our Support Foundation. “It was really heartwarming to see how much money was raised. It was such an honor to present checks to our recipients.

CARSOS funds are raised through various fundraising initiatives throughout the year. Fundraising events include Handbags for Hope, Appetite for Art and Ride the Trace. In addition, SOS receives donations from CAR Member Realtors, Affiliate Partners and other members of our community.

In addition to annual grant distributions, CARSOS has developed a down payment assistance program and offers grants of $1,000 per quarter. To apply for either grant, visit www.spreadingoursupport.com/apply.
