2022 Nebraska Eight-Man Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame Tribute – Tyler Paulsen Dodge High School | Big Island Sports

As we move forward with our greetings to the NEMFCA Hall of Fame, I am honored to introduce our ninth of 14 NEMFCA Class of 2022 Hall of Famers.

Our 9th salute goes to Dodge High School’s incredible Tyler Paulsen, who almost immediately and fearlessly took the place of senior grad Cory Eikmeier, the all-time leader in Nebraska’s career race.

If you thought Eikmeier was the best 8-man running back of all time, after a look at Tyler Paulsen’s accomplishments, you should consider that Mr. Paulsen isn’t that far off the pace of Cory, though he lacked the (IMO) blocking that the aforementioned Eikmeier enjoyed. .

Remember, Dodge won THREE state championships during Paulsen’s 4-year high school career as Tyler racked up over 5,600 rushing yards with a staggering 90 touchdowns to his name.

Tyler Paulsen was the real deal, man! No doubt about it.

And now we proudly present the legendary NEMFCA Hall of Fame biography of Tyler Paulsen;

Tyler was a standout player in a star-studded football program. Although he had to follow directly in the footsteps of the state’s greatest runner of all time, Tyler very quickly stepped out of that shadow and launched his own Hall of Fame career.

Beginning in his freshman year, he helped lead the Pirates to 3 state championships (1996, 1997, 1999) as he and his teammates relied on the legendary Dodge Football Dynasty of the mid-1990s. process, he compiled more than 5,600 career yards on the ground and added 90 more touchdowns to his resume.

During his prep career, Tyler was named 1st Team All-Conference twice, 1st Team All-State twice, and was also honored as Class D-2 Offensive Player of the Year in 1999.

He was selected to play in the 2000 Eight Man All-Star Game and then played at Midland University from 2001 to 2004.

Among his proudest accomplishments, Tyler cites the opportunity to play with and against some of Nebraska Eight Man Football’s top players while competing along Highway 91’s famous Cornhusker Conference.

He is considered by many coaches and peers to be one of the best running backs in Dodge High School and Nebraska Eight Man history.

NEMFCA is honored to now welcome him to the Eight-Man Football Hall of Fame Class of 2022
