It’s that time of year again. As a member of the NEMFCA Hall of Fame Nominating Committee, I am honored to introduce to you our twelfth of 14 members of the NEMFCA Class of 2022 Hall of Fame.
Our 12th salute goes to former Loomis High School Supercoach, Denis Reese. You could look far into those areas and not find a more dedicated head coach AND young men leader than Coach Reese.
You mean dedication? A high school coach for 41 years, the venerable Denis Reese spent 39 at his beloved Loomis. Wolves have qualified for the 8-Man Playoffs 20 times with Coach Reese running things on the sidelines for each.
Yes, coach Denis Reese has just retired since 2020, but his credentials still make him a “no-brainer” for induction into our great Hall of Fame!

COACH DENIS REESE – LOOMIS HIGH SCHOOL

Coach Reese has dedicated more than 40 years of his life to Loomis football and eight-a-side football. In a span that spanned from 1979 to 2020, Denis compiled a coaching career record of 195 wins and 175 losses. In the same span, he led 20 of his teams to the state playoffs, won 10 conference and district titles, and his 1998 Wolves team finished the season as Class D runners-up. -2.
Coach Reese also served the NEMFCA organization for many years as Vice President and President and he was honored as West Assistant Coach in the 1989 All-Star Game. , Denis would return to serve as the West’s head coach for the 1997 game.
Over the years, Coach Reese had several All-State players and was responsible for sending 14 of them to the All-Star Game. It has also seen several Wolves continue to play both small college football and big college football at places including: University of Nebraska, UNK, Doane, and Concordia and Midland Universities.
Denis retired after the 2020 season, but he is still very proud of the relationships he has built with his fellow coaches, as well as the number of former players who have become both positive and successful citizens (including his son Aaron).
The NEMFCA is honored to welcome him to the Eight-Man Football Hall of Fame Class of 2022.
