As you may have noticed, DoofCentral has been slightly neglected of late. I have been working on a new site for a while now, but with DoofCentral being solely a labour of love, with no income generated from it, it unfortunately cannot receive the priority it deserves.

That said, I have decided to stop making updates to the site until the new site is built. With a very busy lifestyle and working life, I don't find much spare time to work on DoofCentral, so I'd appreciate any assistance you can offer. In the short term I need some help with carving up our fantastic new design (thanks to Matt @ Sketcho - don't worry I'll get it online one day I promise) to XHTML/ CSS. It's already about 2/3 done, but still some work remains... if you think you can help with this, please do get in touch.

If you're an event promotor, label manager, artist or other professional involved in the scene, I welcome you to contact me to discuss how you can assist in getting the new site done, and how you can benefit. I am looking for some site "sponsors" to help get the site off the ground (through either monetary or goods donations), in return for which I can offer premium advertising space on the new site when it launches, and priority visibility on the mailouts. Please contact me to discuss how we can work together towards our goals. The more assistance I can receive, the quicker I can get the new site online, and the sooner you can start to reap the benefits of our newfound partnership.

DoofCentral is being rebuilt from the ground up to take advantage of latest technologies,with a more "web 2.0" feel to it. To start with, DoofCentral will contain the following:

• A brand new events listing, with ability for promotors to add their events directly to the site (and an option to purchase premium listings)
• A comprehensive music release database, with automated submission for labels, user comments to encourage feedback and participation, and a rating system

Moving forward, we hope to implement the following features to make DoofCentral even more engaging and enjoyable for our visitors:

• User signup with user profiles, and ability to post a variety of content
• User blogs, to share your thoughts and ideas with the world
• User photo galleries
• Top tens (tell the world what's really floating your boat at the moment)
• Marketplace (sell or trade old or new merchandise)
  

As you can see, DoofCentral has the potential to grow into an excellent resource for all in the psy community... but as you can imagine this all takes much time and dedication, so the more assistance I can receive, the quicker it'll happen and the more features I can implement.
